New Product Development Research

Challenge:

A sporting equipment client of ours manufactured both a stair-stepper and a stationary bike for national health-clubs. Customers were asking for a treadmill to round out the product line-up. Our client wanted to develop a treadmill only if it was innovative and compelling as their other market leading products.

Insight:

With focus groups and conjoint analysis, Insights Worldwide Research was able to define customers’ wants and needs, and develop a clear blueprint of “must have” features for designing the treadmill.

Results:

With a thorough and complete market report in hand, the industrial designers creating the treadmill were able to deliver a hot product months ahead of schedule.
